Student Facilities
Student Welfare New students are know as "freshers" and the Student Services Office organises a range of events for students, from parties to induction talks, to ensure that you get all the support you need to establish yourself in London. The College welfare team devote much of their time to the care of overseas students who have recently arrived in London and are still finding their feet.
Library The College has an extensive range of academic and study facilities. The library is well stocked with a comprehensive range of textbooks, journals, law and business reports
Medical facilities Overseas students enrolled on courses of more than six months’ duration are entitled to free hospital treatment through the UK National Health Service-NHS.
Student Travel Discount Student are eligible for a Student Oyster photocard, which entitles a discount rate travel. With a valid Student Oyster photocard, student can buy Travelcards and Bus Passes at 30% off the equivalent adult rate.
Employment Advise, Part Time Employment Full time students coming for courses of 6 months or more are allowed to work for up to 20 hours per week during term time, and full time during vacations. Please visit the website www.dfes.gov.uk/international-students/workleaflet for more information
Bank Account Assistance Students are advised on the procedure for opening a bank account in London and the necessary bank references are provided by the College. We work very closely with HSBC and Lloyds TSB banks.
National Insurance Provision We would advise student about NI Offices in London which allow us help you get a national insurance number in a matter of a few weeks.
Computer Lab and internet facility The new and enlarged IT Centre provides training in the use of computer applications, professional staff are available to help students.
Social Life & Sports Facilities A range of social, cultural and sporting activities are organised throughout the year. These include visits to the neighbouring Charlton Athletic Football Club, 5-a-side football, cricket, a cultural evening, discos and lectures by guest speakers.
English Language Support - Free of Charge Students on full-time studies whose English requires improvement, are encouraged to attend Language classes while continuing with their studies free of charge.
Airport Meeting Service Arriving in Britain from overseas for the first time can be rather overwhelming. We can arrange for you to be met at the airport by a College approved taxi company, which will take you to your accommodation or the College as appropriate.
